Questions asked by the clients at the end of my pitch in terms of developing the pitch/project ideas
What influencers and bloggers would you use and why?
Which brands would you work with?
If there are similar apps out there why should the audience use yours?
Why would artists upload their videos?
Analysing the feedback
Overall, I received positive feedback from my pitch to the clients however the clients had a few questions at the end which helped me identify how I would improve my pitch and what I could do in order to extend the idea and changes I could make to the proposal in line with the feedback and viability considerations.
The first piece of feedback I received after my pitch was from one of the clients who asked "You mentioned other similar apps but can you tell me why I would buy into this app than carry on with the ones I'm familiar with?" In response to this, I told the client that there were a lot of fashion apps and music apps on the market but what made my app unique was the convergence of both fashion and music to deliver a service for both rather than one. This was a useful piece of feedback as in order to improve my pitch I would have explained this in more details and talked through some of the fashion apps and music apps that are already on the market to help distinguish how my app is unique and is a new idea to the market.
The second piece of feedback I received after my pitch was from another client who asked "Some artists have their own fashion labels/lines could you have a feature where their videos only sell their own brands?" In response to this, I told the client that this could be a development of the app as the app works with music artists so this could be seen as a joint venture development where the app promises to advertise the artist's clothing line or label in their videos in order to promote the line but also gain further commission, also an artist will be happy to collaborate with the app if it benefits them and this could be a method of benefiting both the artist and the app which could also introduce some more marketing strategies where the artists could also promote the app which will gain the app further engagement. This point was very useful as it has helped me to identify what I could do in terms of collaborations with the music artists and what would persuade them to work with my app and I think this is a good method of doing that. To further improve my pitch I would have added about working with music artists and ways of which both the artist and the app could benefit from working together.
The third piece of feedback I received was from another client who asked "Which influencers and bloggers would you use and why?" In response to this, I told the client that I would use YouTubers for example Alfie Deyes (Pointless Blog) as he has a wide target audience and is also quite technology savvy and promote apps a lot within his videos. Adding to this I would also use influencers on Instagram for example people who have been on TV shows and have a wide following such as Love Island stars as they promote apps and services a lot on their instagram pages and the audience would be those aged 18 to 30 therefore it would be a good marketing method. The bloggers and influencers that we work with could also promote deals such as discount codes which they get commission from as this is another form of working with them for marketing and would benefit both them and the app. To further improve my pitch I would have talked more thoroughly about which influencers I would use and why to ensure the clients were clear about my intentions for working with bloggers and influencers. This was a useful point and would have further enhanced my pitch if I had spoken in more detail about how I would use influencers and bloggers to help market my app.
Overall, the criteria I gained from the clients after my pitch would not impact the feasibility of my app idea it would enhance it, this is because the feedback I received helped me identify opportunities within the app such as working with music artists as a joint venture with selling and promoting their own clothing labels on the app and the feedback also helped me identify what I would do differently if I had to pitch this idea again and what I would talk about in more depth in order for the client to be sure about investing in the app. After the feedback I believe my proposal is still viable but I would have to add in the highlighted points of improvement and also think about further developments I could do to make the app as successful as it can be.
How I will develop my proposal in line with the feedback and viability considerations
To develop my proposal so that it is in line with the feedback and viability considerations I will add in further information to my unique selling point and make sure I am clearer when presenting the unique selling point of my app as one of the clients had asked why my app was unique and different to other apps on the market. I will also add in information about having a joint venture with music artists by selling and advertising their own clothing lines, I think this will really develop my idea and proposal as it will show I have thought about what benefits the app could get from working with the artists but also what will persuade the artists to work with the app and allow them to market it on their own social medias. Lastly, I would amend my proposal so that it includes more detail on the bloggers and influencers I would use and why as this would help the client understand more into this marketing strategy. All of the developments to enhance my proposal are viable and the idea is still very much feasible as I am only working on improving the app not taking anything away from it.
Here are the slides I would add into my proposal presentation to ensure I can improve it and that it is in line with the feedback and viability considerations;
