Another issue that I need to cover is royalties and copyright, as I am doing an audio production which will include music, I will need to check that the Performing Rights Society for Music who are an organisation who certifies to play or make available copyrighted music on behalf of musicians by distributing the royalties to them so they can ensure that my copyright agreement is checked and that royalty payments have been made on the music artists. I will also need to check that the Phonographic Performance Ltd who are an organisation that license the use of recorded music on the behalf of record companies and performers where the music is played on the internet can also check that my music doesn't breach any of the rules and is accredited properly to avoid copyright issues.
However, I plan to use royalty free music for my audio production but I will still need to ensure I have accredited the artist as it won't be my own music. As I will be distributing my audio book on SoundCloud and the music in my audio book will be copyright free as well as the fact I have used my own recorded materials I will not have to think about getting a PPL license as I will not have used any artists that music that isn't copyright free. |
