The content I have chosen has been included because it’s relevant, it will fit the media product I want to produce and make it more engaging for the audience, having the audiences attention is key to making the product because when it’s distributed it’s got to catch their attention so that they watch it and take on board what being said so that it encourages them to visit Cambridge.
The client will market the product best by getting it distributed because the more people who see it the more popular Cambridge will become. If the product is marketed well it will grab a bigger audience, to market it well would be to use sponsorship's or something alike to boost the amount of people who watch it.
The client will have to distribute the product to the right places to get it’s target audiences attention, the places suitable for this video would be airports or rail stations and even bus stations in the UK, one main reason for this is because tat’s where most tourists and people who like to travel will most likely be.
Explain two ways your product could be marketed to audiences in the digital age My promotional video on Cambridge could be marketed to audiences in the digital age via many different ways. One effective way of marketing a video would be for it to come up on recommendations and ‘up next’ on YouTube. To do this when distributing the video you’d have to include a lot of tags so that different categories on YouTube have access to it.
Another way the video could be marketed to audiences in the digital age would be putting an advertisement and a link to the video on a pop up, this pop up could pop up on a tourist, travelling and sight seeing websites. The reason why this will be effective is because it’s addressing the target audience straight away, the type of people who will be looking at these kind of websites are people who be wanting to travel and explore new places. Meaning this would be a really effective and efficient way of marketing the video because it’s reaching straight out to the proposed target audience of the video.
Identify 3 channels of distribution for your product that are successful in the digital age in terms of the product reaching out to the target audience A channel of distribution that would work effectively with my product would be social media, for example Facebook. Facebook would be a good place to distribute my promotional video because of the vast majority of people who have an account and use it regularly. Many people on Facebook like, share and comment on videos, this helps a lot of videos become viral. Therefore my video might get a lot of shares making it viral and persuading more people to come and visit Cambridge. This way of distribution would be a great way to reach out to many audiences other than just the target audience, this could also convince people who aren’t into exploring new places warm to the idea. Another distribution method would be to distribute it to YouTube, one of the worlds most popular video sharing sites. To make the video more find able for the target audience I’d upload it with plenty of tags, making it easier to find. This distributed is also good because it lets anyone and everyone see the video worldwide as well as just in the UK. Meaning tourists from different countries could see it and want to come and visit. Lastly, to put the video directly onto a travelling and tourism website would be an effective way of distribution because that would be putting the video out directly to the target audience, this would also market Cambridge as a city as well as just marketing the video because there could already be videos about Cambridge on these sites so adding more will make the city more popular.
P2: CREATE SAMPLE MATERIALS TO SUPPORT THE PROPOSAL
My storyboard will help sell my proposal because it will give a sense of the kind of shots I will be using, from the shots I have shown in the storyboard. I believe having this sample will make the idea easier to explain. It also gives a sense of the type of shots I'm going to film, each shot is thought through to give a feel of Cambridge, for example the low angle shots this gives the sense that the shopping centres are massive, which draws attention to a female audience because they like shopping therefore will encourage them to go . After seeing the storyboard hopefully it's more clear as to what I want to film and how I want to film it.
